Satguru Baba Ram Bhajan Sahib

The second Pathshahi of Pooj Samadha Ashram, Shikarpur

After the ascension of SatGuru Baba Har Bhajan Sahib in 1853, Baba Ram Bhajan Sahib, his devoted disciple, faithfully continued the sacred practices of satsang (spiritual discourse) and shewa (selfless service) at Samadha Ashram. In the same spirit as his Guru, Baba Ram Bhajan devoted every moment to the remembrance of God and the service of humanity. Like Lord Krishna’s teachings to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita, Baba exemplified the undetached spirit of an Udaseen saint—unaffected by worldly attachments or expectations. This selfless devotion ensured that the legacy of Baba Har Bhajan Sahib continued to shine brightly through the ages.

A Life of Unwavering Devotion

SatGuru Baba Ram Bhajan Sahib embodied the essence of simplicity and devotion. His life was a reflection of God’s eternal presence, and his days were spent in the constant remembrance of God’s name. With a heart full of love and humility, Baba welcomed all guests to Samadha Ashram, ensuring that each one was treated with respect and care. Those who came with faith and trust found their needs fulfilled, receiving blessings that uplifted their spirits and eased their burdens. Baba’s commitment to these values of service and devotion became the cornerstone of Samadha Ashram, which continued to flourish under his care.

Passing on the Divine Legacy

In a poignant moment of divine transmission, Baba Ram Bhajan Sahib summoned his devoted follower, Bhai Roopchand, one night. Handing him five rupees and a coconut, Baba transferred his spiritual strength and powers, saying:

“From now on, you shall be known as Baba Roop Bhajan Sahib. My soul is now ready to reunite with its Source—the Divine. You shall care for this Dhuni Sahib and all devotees, living in constant praise and remembrance of God.”

Baba further entrusted him with these sacred words:

“Do not worry, for Samadha Ashram carries the eternal blessings of Baba Har Bhajan Sahib. This Gaddi (lineage) will endure as long as the sun and moon shine in the universe. Dhuni Sahib is a sanctuary for all who seek refuge; it is the balm for those burdened by life’s struggles. My time has come to reunite with my SatGuru.”

And so, in the early hours of 1903, SatGuru Baba Ram Bhajan Sahib breathed his last, his soul reunited with the Divine. His passing marked the end of a glorious chapter, but his everlasting legacy of devotion, selfless service, and spiritual guidance continues to guide the followers of Samadha Ashram. The teachings and the blessings he imparted remain as a beacon of light for generations to come.
